Altra Volta • Winter Concert

Altra Volta is a 10-voice a cappella vocal ensemble, whom both Noel and I sing with! If you haven't made it to a show yet, we highly recommend our upcoming Christmas concert featuring a handful of Christmas favourites, some new arrangements and a little latin flare to warm us up for the holidays. It will surely be a treat for the whole family to enjoy!

Tickets are $12 Advance / $10 Seniors and Children / $15 Door - you can pick these up from Hilary in advance! Cash is fine, and cheques can be made out to Altra Volta.

Spiritus Chamber Choir opens the 2009-2010 Season with a dramatic program featuring works for choir and percussion, including Estonian Veljo Tormis’ Curse Upon Iron with soloist Noel Amante, and marimba accompaniment by Malcolm Lim in works by Calgary’s Sonya Guha-Thakurta and Kristopher Fulton of Vancouver. The program will also feature Giles Swayne’s Missa Tiburtina, a passionate work exploring the agony of famine and poverty. Themes of anguish will be soothed by the glorious polyphony of Holst’s Nunc Dimittis and Biebl’s famous Ave Maria.

Spring 2009 - Congratulations Julia!

Piano student, Julia Bayne, was the recipient of the 2009 Royal Conservatory of Music Silver Medal Award in both Preparatory A and B practical piano examinations in recognition of her oustanding accomplishment! Silver medals are awarded each year by province or region, to candidates who have obtained the highest marks for practical examinations in each discipline. Congratulations Julia, all your hard work paid off!
