Hilary Aubin Amante, B.MUS

Hilary Aubin Amante is a freelance musician and independent music teacher based in Calgary, Alberta. Her main instruments include the flute and the piano, which she teaches along side music theory privately out of her home studio. Hilary currently performs actively with the Calgary based Alberta Winds Ensemble, the a cappella vocal ensemble Altra Volta, and has performed with the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra, the Lethbridge Symphony and as a guest soloist with the University of Calgary Wind Ensemble. She is an avid performer with musical theatre projects in Calgary including 7 years with the StoryBook Theatre, several major theatrical productions with Front Row Centre Players, and most recently with Broadway West where she also took on the roll of orchestral director.

Always known for her outstanding musical contribution throughout her early education, Hilary has won numerous awards from the Calgary Kiwanis Festival in the Woodwind Solo and Chamber Ensemble categories, and scholarships for her involvement in the Music Community. She continues to share her passion for music and performance with over 10 years of teaching experience on both flute and piano in all levels and ages, following the curriculum of the Royal Conservatory of Music. Her students learn quickly that music is meant to be experienced and enjoyed while motivating confidence and self-discovery in a challenging learning environment.

Hilary holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Performance from the University of Calgary, receiving distinction. Aside from teaching and ensemble performing, Hilary also performs regularly for concerts, and for weddings and special events in Southern Alberta with her guitar playing husband, Noel, as the Dolce Amante Duo.
